Living in the city with a country feel

I'm going to make my review very short I know it's going to sound a little long but I just love Brooklyn Park and I have to express my feelings about it. I grew up in Brooklyn Center in the 80s. I'm 55 years old I have two adult children they were raised in North Minneapolis and South Minneapolis in their teen years. My husband now we got married a few years after meeting we decided we wanted to buy a home. I looked in different settings our spot that we really wanted was the Richfield area, because we were in love with the area and we lived there for quite a few years. Homes were too expensive so when I got a realtor she suggested Brooklyn Park because the homes and Townhomes were at a cheaper value we looked at quite a few homes in Brooklyn Park, a couple in Maple Grove but we did find one townhome off of 101st and West River Road which seemed to be a totally different city. Growing up we never went no further than the area on Brooklyn Boulevard but I love the area I like the nature the river the quietness, hearing the dam at night when we're sleeping and there's no other place I would want to live. I did experience a little bit of racism with stares, going to the grocery stores or catching my bus when I was working downtown going to the 610 park and ride. And I think all that was is because I think a lot of people didn't have a lot of people of color for quite a few years living on the southside of 85th but I don't let things like that bother me because I know I'm going to live where I want to live. Brooklyn Park is a beautiful city whether you're on the North part of 85th or you on the south part of 85th. I really enjoy the city. I go into Maple Grove a lot and do my shopping not so much Champlin but I do have a couple places I do like to go to as far as eateries. We're in a wonderful spot we're right across from Coon Rapids we're just a few blocks from Champlin,Osseo and Maple Grove. I feel we made a very good decision moving into this part of Brooklyn Park.
